A Kanawha County Commission sports complex just off I-64 west of Charleston, with four diamonds and six turf soccer fields (Shawnee Sports Complex).
AC Baseball's Coal Country Classic is played at Shawnee and draws travel teams from several states, including AYRA Athletics from Laurel, Maryland, Prospect Baseball from Roanoke, Virginia, the Tidewater Thunderbirds from Suffolk, Virginia, the Canal Winchester Tomahawks from Ohio and KBA Prime from Lexington, Kentucky (AC Baseball).
Los Agaves is about 5 minutes away in Dunbar, the Cross Lanes hotel about 6, and the West Virginia State Capitol about 16 minutes east.

West Virginia State Capitol

The area's signature stop: the Capitol on the Kanawha River, topped by a 293-foot gold-leaf dome, with the historic Governor's Mansion and the West Virginia State Museum on the same complex. Guided Capitol tours need a reservation (West Virginia Tourism, West Virginia Legislature).

Packing notes

Bring chairs, a pop-up canopy and plenty of water. Field A is full turf and Fields B to D have turf infields, so turf shoes are a good choice.
The complex also has six soccer fields, so allow extra time to park on busy weekends and check your field letter before you walk over.
