A 2006 Coastal Point story describes volunteers edging grass and dragging the infields of the two World Series fields, but no current source confirms the surfaces. (9 fields: Layton, Lyons, Comiskey, Memorial, Camden Yards, Wrigley, Griffith, Veterans and Fenway Park (Lower Sussex Little League). World Series games are played on Layton Field and Lyons Field (Little League).)

Lower Sussex Little League's nine-field home complex in Roxana, a few miles inland from Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island, with Layton Field as its championship field (Lower Sussex Little League; Little League).
It's the home of the Little League Senior League Softball World Series, which brings in teams from across the U.S. and abroad, including Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania; Grand Blanc, Michigan; Irmo, South Carolina; San Antonio, Texas; and Honolulu, Hawaii, with games on Layton and Lyons fields (Little League).
Drifting Grounds coffee is about 12 minutes away in Ocean View, Hocker's about 17, and the beach at Fenwick Island State Park about 20 minutes.
