Dirt infields with grass outfields. The City of Southaven says every infield uses Southern Athletic Turf infield mix with subsurface drainage and every outfield is Tifton 419 Bermuda grass. A City of Southaven softball complex the city calls the premier youth fastpitch venue in the South, with eight softball-only fields, Musco lighting, electronic scoreboards and covered, enclosed dugouts (City of Southaven).
Fences are portable: five fields play at 225 feet, one at 275 and two at 300. A main control and scoring tower overlooks four fields, with concessions in the tower plus kiosks and paved parking (City of Southaven).
Out-of-state fastpitch teams play USSSA events here, including RAGE 14U from Adamsville, Tennessee, Prodigy from Huntingdon, Tennessee, the Memphis Tigers 14U, the Fireballs Xtreme from Jonesboro, Arkansas and Semo Intensity from Jackson, Missouri (USSSA).
Both hotels below are near Southaven Towne Center about 5-6 minutes away, Maria's Cantina is about 4 minutes out and Graceland is about 14.

Packing notes

All eight fields have dirt infields and Bermuda grass outfields, so plan for dirt and grass footing.
Fences move between 225, 275 and 300 feet, so check which field and fence your age group is on.
Bring chairs, a pop-up canopy and water. Mid-South summers are hot and humid, and every field is lit for night games.
